Free line dancing classes offered at JMC Library
JACKSON, Tenn. — Residents gather for a fun take on an activity that’s sure to get you moving.
A class for line dancing was held at Jackson-Madison County Library Monday evening. The class helps motivate people and keep them moving, it’s also a way to relieve stress.
There’s no age requirement, with the oldest attendee being 89 years old! You also don’t need prior experience to participate.
“It’s not about, ‘I don’t know how to dance.’ Once you get to coming, it gets easier, it gets easier and it gets easier,” said Lenora Wood, instructor for Unique Line Dancers.
The line dancing group holds classes with the NAACP on Tuesday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and classes at the T.R. White Sportsplex from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays. All classes are free to attend. The classes at the NAACP office, located at 118 N. Church Street, will begin Tuesday, January 7.
