2025 Celebrations in the Hub City
JACKSON Tenn. — It’s the first day of 2025 and many brought in the new year with an unforgettable night of celebration, connection, and community.
Many here in west Tennessee spent their time bringing in the holiday with friends and family. Some residents brought in the new year at the 2nd Annual Blues and Soul Ball at the Carl Perkins Civic Center for an evening of groovy tunes, delicious food and great company.
Guest were inspired to dress to impress in their best blues or soul inspired outfit to boogie on the dance floor, and Ritz Magic Wheels here in the hub city were skating their way towards their Jr. New Year Eve balloon drop celebration. They enjoyed gifts and prizes placed inside their balloons for a special surprise along with party favors to bring in the new year.
The small children held festivities earlier in the day and the tennagers held a separate celebration following into the night
Plus, the Midnight Lights Sky mural show New Year Eve celebration soared over downtown. This free, family-friendly event lit up the historic downtown skyline with a specially designed fireworks display, creating dazzling light murals. Some paired this breathtaking display with a night out at one of downtown Jackson’s fantastic restaurants, taverns, or cafes. Some local establishments like Chelle’s BBQ Soulfood & More have a new years meal prepared for guest who stop by.
The owner expresses her gratitude going into the new year.
“It’s just a blessing that we both are standing here alive today. We’ve been through a lot this year. We’ve had great successes but we’ve had a lot of medical challenges this year. So, it’s overwhelming for us to be facing a new year celebrating it at my own business… Downtown Jackson.” said Andrea Moore, Owner of Chelle’s BBQ Soulfood & More.
Just like Moore, many are optimistic about what the new year has to bring.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were offering free rides New Year’s Eve for communities to have a safe way home for the holiday.
