JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Choral Society holds its first rehearsal kick off event.
This evening singers gathered at First United Methodist Church in downtown Jackson to rehearse for the Jackson Choral Society’s April 12 concert. For this performance, they’ll be partnering with the Lane College Choir under the direction of Alexis Rainbow. They will be singing two major choral works: John Rutter’s ‘Requiem’ and Mark Hayes’ ‘Spirit suite.’
The Jackson Choral Society will be rehearsing every Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., leading up to the concert.
“The Jackson Choral Society is an all volunteer community choir there are no auditions required if you’re interested in being a part of us it is not too late to come out for this semester,” said Zach Young, music director for the Jackson Choral Society.
