We Will Bottom Out From the Arctic Blast Tonight in West Tennessee!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

A cold weather advisory has been issued again for all of West Tennessee tonight into Wednesday morning. Tonight will be the coldest night from this current arctic blast as many of us will see single digits temperatures, for the first time this winter, by Wednesday morning. Please bundle up the kids on Wednesday morning. Please bring the pets in and leave those faucets dripping overnight. There are some warmer temperatures and rain returning in the forecast and we will have the latest coming up right here.

THIS WEEK:
We dropped down to 12° in Jackson Monday morning but we are likely to be a few degrees cooler than that tonight into Wednesday morning. The coldest weather we have encountered so far this winter looks to be on the way tonight. Many of us will fall down to the single digits due to the mostly clear skies and calm winds. If the winds pick up at all, our wind chill will feel around 0° at times tonight.

The winds will shift back to the south briefly on Wednesday allowing us to reach back up into the mid 30s. Wednesday will still be cold and temperatures will remain below normal but we will be about 10 degrees warmer on Wednesday than we were on Monday or Tuesday. Skies will remain mostly sunny on Wednesday and mostly clear again Wednesday night. Wednesday night will be cool and fall down to around 20° for most of the region.

The warm up will continue on Thursday with highs reaching the low to mid 40s. Skies will remain mostly sunny and the winds will shift from the south to the northwest late in the day behind the next front. The next front will be a dry front and will only drop temperatures about 5° from Thursday into the day on Friday. Thursday night lows will again drop down to around 20°.

Friday will be another cold but dry day for all of West Tennessee. Highs on Friday will make it up to the upper 30s but again, we should see a mostly sunny day. The winds on Friday will be light and start out of the northwest before slowly turning to the west into the afternoon. Friday night lows will drop down to the mid 20s but it still will be another cold night.

THE WEEKEND:
The warmest weather in over a week will be returning for the upcoming weekend. Highs will reach the upper 40s to near 50° for both Saturday and Sunday. Clouds will increase as the weekend goes on and we will see cloudy skies for most of the day on Sunday. Cold rain showers will move in on Sunday and although most of us will only see rain, we cannot yet rule out a brief wintry mix or a few snow flurries depending on how early the system shows up on Sunday and how late it lasts Sunday night into Monday morning. Storms are not expected with this round of cold rain showers. Saturday and Sunday night lows will also determine if we only see rain or any sort of Winter precipitation. As of now, both nights lows are forecast down to the mid 30s, just above freezing. It will be a close call so we will be monitoring the forecast for the weekend lows as the week goes on. The winds are forecast to come out of the southwest on Saturday and out of the southeast for the most part on Sunday.
