TVA Step 20 lifted after requesting power reductions

PRESS RELEASE FROM JACKSON ENERGY AUTHORITY:

Jackson, TN – TVA announced today that peak demand had been met, Step 20 has been lifted and electric consumers may resume normal use of electricity.

TVA delivered 35,319 megawatts of electricity this morning, the highest demand in TVA’s 90-plus-year history. (Previous peak – 34,577 MW January 17, 2024)

The voluntary cooperation of TVA customers helped ensure the stability and reliability of the TVA grid.  That voluntary participation made it possible for TVA to meet record demand without taking additional power reduction steps.
