Sprinkle Me Sugar Awarded $30,000 Backing Small Businesses Enhancement Grant from American Express and Main Street America
JACKSON, Tennessee, January 28, 2025 – Sprinkle Me Sugar, a local bakery in Jackson, Tennessee, has been named one of 25 recipients of the prestigious $30,000 Backing Small Businesses Enhancement Grant, jointly presented by American Express and Main Street America.
“This transformative grant marks a pivotal moment for Sprinkle Me Sugar in 2025. It empowers us to significantly expand our footprint in Downtown Jackson, Tennessee, reinforcing our commitment to the local community and setting the stage for exciting growth opportunities,” said Raina Shults, owner/founder of Sprinkle Me Sugar. “We’re thrilled to contribute to the vibrant tapestry of Downtown Jackson’s small business landscape and look forward to sweetening more lives in our beloved community.”
The Enhancement Grant recipients, representing 25 states across the country, were selected from a pool of 500 small businesses that had previously received $10,000 grants earlier this year. This latest round of funding brings the total support provided by the Backing Small Businesses program in 2024 to more than $5.7 million.

Since its inception in 2021, the Backing Small Businesses grant program has provided nearly $9.8 million in grants to 1,180 small business owners nationwide15. The program is part of American Express’ broader “Backing Small” initiative, which aims to support small businesses through various grant programs and resources.
As Small Business Saturday celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2024, the Backing Small Businesses grant program continues to exemplify the ongoing commitment to supporting local, independently owned businesses that are vital to communities across the United States.
