Man arrested for sexual battery by authority figure now faces drug, weapon charges

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OBION COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:

At approximately 11:52pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, while attempting to serve warrants, deputies with the Obion County Sheriff’s Office located David Carl Bell, 56, at his residence at 6203 Cooley Road in Union City, TN and took him into custody on 5 counts of Sexual Battery and 5 counts of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure.

Once in custody, a pat down resulted in deputies locating Methamphetamine on Mr. Bell’s person.

A search warrant was executed on the residence which resulted in the discovery of a total of 132.1 grams of Marijuana, 7.1 grams of Methamphetamine, multiple paraphernalia items and 5 firearms.

As a result, Mr. Bell is now charged with Possession of Schedule VI with Intent, Possession of Schedule II, 5 counts of Possession of a Weapon During a Dangerous Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

David Bell is currently being held at the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex on a $50,000 bond.

The defendant in this case is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
