Former deputy charged with growing marijuana appears in court

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — A former Crockett County deputy and his wife who face drug charges appeared Friday in court.

Zachary Edwards and his wife, Melissa, were indicted in February by a grand jury and charged with growing marijuana.

The couple’s attorney spoke at the status hearing Friday on their behalf.

Their next court appearance is set for Oct. 10.
