City officials urge south Dyersburg residents to prepare in case of evacuation
DYERSBURG, Tenn. — The recent storms have impacted many communities in West Tennessee.

Now, one local city is warning some residents to prepare for a possible evacuation if conditions worsen. City officials are asking south Dyersburg residents to prepare for the possibility of evacuation due to flooded areas.

Right now, they have Atkins, Forshee Street and Wilson Drive. Officials say if you cannot see the road ahead of you, you need to ‘turn around, don’t drown.’
These flooded areas were caused due to the storm that happened over the weekend so they are preparing and asking that residents who live in these areas who are unable to get out of their homes prepare to evacuate.

According to the City of Dyersburg’s Facebook page, they are asking people to also avoid David Road., Laird Street, Samaria Bend Road and South Main from Christie Street to Highway 51 Bypass. Only residents and business workers will be given access.
For residents who want to stay up to date with what’s going on, you can join their service by messaging the Dyersburg zip code, 38024, to 888777.
