9 Memphis schools may join Achievement District
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Nine schools in Memphis may be joining the Achievement School District.
WMC-TV (http://bit.ly/15R6otR) reports the schools are eligible to join in 2014. The goal of the district is to help the state’s poorest-performing schools get into the top 25 percent in a five-year time frame.
The schools that qualify include four elementaries – Coleman, Denver, Springhill and Westwood; two middle schools – South Side and Wooddale; and three high schools – Carver, Fairley and Frayser.
