Blue Suede fundraiser takes guests back to the 80’s

JACKSON, Tenn.—One special event returns to Jackson taking guests back to the 80’s!

The 2025 Blue Suede Dinner and Auction was held Saturday evening at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.

The event kicked off at 8:30 with good food, great music, and lots of opportunities to help out a local cause.

Those in attendance could dress up in their favorite 80’s attire and enjoy live music from Sixwire along with special guest Stan Perkins.

Tickets were $25 and proceeds from the event go to support the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

“You see a lot of people dressed in the 80’s. It started in 1981 when Carl Perkins and several community people got together to say ‘how can we stop child abuse?’ The center is serving over 3,400 children in 23 counties, so it’s a great fundraiser to raise money for the kids,” said Anita Hamilton, Chair of the Blue Suede Dinner and Auction.

This is the 31st year for the event to take place.
