Teen arrested in connection to homicide on Conger Street

[Jackson, TN] – Investigators with the Jackson Police Department have made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 100 block of Conger Street on the morning of Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Officers were initially dispatched to the area after a witness reported seeing a man lying on the ground next to a vacant residence. Quenteraqus Mckinnie, a 25-year-old man, was identified as the victim. Mr. Mckinnie suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures.

During the course of the investigation, a 17-year-old male was developed as the suspect in the shooting. The male juvenile was taken into custody on Monday, February 24, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM. The suspect will be formally charged in the Madison County General Sessions Division II (Juvenile Court) for First Degree Murder.
