Humboldt Public Library holds ‘Little Explorers’ event for local children

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The Humboldt Public Library held a special program Tuesday for their youngest patrons.

Their “Little Explorers” event was for children ages zero to three, and involved reading books, singing songs, doing dances and arts and crafts.

Activities focused on favorite characters like sonic, bluey and paw patrol. The goal was to tie in popular characters with books at the library the kids can check out.

“We wanted to start something for our youngest ones and so we do things, some of the times popular characters, sometimes we do things for different holidays or different times of the year. We’ve got some spring ones coming up and then we’re gonna do one all about fruit or colors or numbers, just so we can get the little ones started with their education too,” said Ashley Niven, children and youth services librarian for the Humboldt Public Library.

Niven shares that the Humboldt Library has something for everyone from book clubs for all ages to a drama club for tweens and teens.
