JACKSON, Tenn.—Fans unite at a unique event dedicated to all things comic.

The Jackson Comic Expo was held today at the Carl Perkin’s Civic Center.

The expo kicked off at 9 Saturday morning and continued until 5 in the afternoon. Tickets range from 10 to 15 dollars.

The event combines the love of comics, unique gaming, wrestling, and pop culture all under one roof.

Special guests present include comic artists, iconic wrestlers, and popular voice actors giving fans the opportunity to snatch up some signed artwork, photos, and other items.

We also spoke to Actress Carla Perez who portrayed Rita Repulsa in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

“We have some great Power Ranger fans and they’re everywhere. I mean it’s no different here in Jackson. A lot of the fans have come up and brought the collectibles. I’ve signed a few things, so far and they’re just wonderful,” Perez said.

Throughout the event, gaming competitions were held including favorites like Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, and Catan. Each winner in those competitions also took home prizes.

Several vendors were available, selling unique pop culture items, like toy figures, limited edition artwork and more.

Today’s event also includes a special guest appearance from Mid-Souths’ own Jerry “The King” Lawler.
