Teen charged in fatal shooting of 15-year-old in Jackson

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT:

[Jackson, TN]Jackson police officers are investigating a shooting that occurred on March 5, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Dustin Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services. Tragically, the victim died as a result of his injuries.

During the investigation, a 16-year-old male at the scene was taken into custody for questioning. After presenting the findings to the District Attorney’s office and conducting a careful review, the 16-year-old has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.

The City of Jackson Police Department expresses its deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased and all those involved.
