Two More Rounds of Storms Coming this Week, Thursday & Sunday!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

We dropped into the upper 20s in Jackson this morning and we could see another freeze Friday morning. But in-between, some warmer and breezy weather will move in for Tuesday and Wednesday. The next storm chance is coming Wednesday afternoon/evening. We are currently under a marginal risk (1/5) for severe storms. This system is no where close to as strong as the one that came through over the weekend. That being said, some severe weather looks possible with the scattered storms that are expected to develop. We will have the latest on the storm threat, including another threat on Sunday, all coming up here.

If you were curious if Monday morning was our last freeze of the season, that looks highly unlikely. We usually see our last freeze during the first week of April and our last front during the second week of April. The earliest last freeze of record for Spring was set back in 2017 on March 16th, so it is possible this was our last freeze, just highly unlikely. We have our next shot at a freeze coming Friday morning.

THIS WEEK:
After falling into the upper 20s Monday morning we warmed up nicely into the afternoon. Most of us reached the 60s with the sunny skies and light southerly winds in the afternoon. The skies will remain mostly clear tonight and the winds will be light out of the south. This will keep us about 20° warmer tonight than last night with most of us falling into the mid to upper 40s.

The winds will kick up speed on Tuesday and be quite windy on Wednesday. The winds will come out of the southwest on Tuesday between 10-15 MPH and kick up to 15-20 MPH on Wednesday. The winds will be picking up as the next low pressure system will approach and pass to the north of us Wednesday night. The system will bring a round of thunderstorms to West Tennessee. The storms will be scattered and a few severe storms will be possible in the later afternoon and early evening hours between (3-8pm). We are currently under a marginal risk (1/5) for severe storms on Wednesday.

Tuesday is also to be warm with highs reaching the mid 70s. We will still see mostly sunny skies on Tuesday but clouds will look to move back in late in the day on Wednesday. Tuesday night will be warm and humid with overnight lows only dropping to the mid to upper 50s. Wednesday will be a warm, breezy and humid day with highs again reaching the mid 70s before the storms pop up. The storms will move out Wednesday night and as the front moves through, we are going to be chilly again by Thursday morning.

Thursday is the first day of Spring but it is going to feel a bit winter-like. Thursday morning lows will be around 40° and highs will only reach the mid 50s. We are expecting mostly sunny skies again on Thursday and the winds will be pesky and brisk coming out of the northwest between 15-20 MPH. The winds will weaken Thursday night into Friday morning but temperatures will also be dropping, all the way down to the low 30s to kick off our Friday. Friday the winds will return to the south starting another brief warm up with highs reaching the mid 60s again on Friday. We will also see mostly sunny skies on Friday. Friday night lows will fall down to around 50° to kick off our weekend.

THE WEEKEND:
There will be a couple of low pressure systems that will try to impact our weather this weekend. The first one on Saturday looks to pass to the north of us. It could bring a few showers but we are expecting a mostly dry Saturday as of now. The storm system coming in on Sunday looks a bit more concerning and could bring some severe weather back to the Mid South. We will be watching the set-up closely this weekend and keep you updated out of the 7 Storm Team Weather Center.
Highs on Saturday will reach up to around 70° with the winds coming in at the west. If the first system clips us, the winds may come out of the northwest for a bit. Saturday night lows will fall down to around 50°. Highs on Sunday will also make it up to around 70°. Sunday night lows will be cooler behind the system and drop down to around 40°. There will be partly cloudy skies on Saturday and likely mostly cloudy skies on Sunday. The winds out Sunday will come out of the south until the front passes and return back to the northwest by Monday morning. Next week will start out a bit chilly.
