Free dental technician apprenticeship workshop offered at JSCC
JACKSON, Tenn. — Helping Hands of Tennessee unveils a free dental technician apprenticeship workshop at Jackson State Community College.
The free 20 person cohort dental technician apprenticeship is part of a state funded grant.
This 12 month pre-apprenticeship provides students with all the necessary training and credentials to become a dental technician to obtain employment after completing the program.
“We offer an internship, so they’ll be licensed — they’ll be able to work anywhere they would like to work. They’ll be working in the lab so, as far as, making crowns, partials, dentures, veneers,” said Tabetha Massey, lead dental assistant training instructor.
Students enrolled in the apprenticeship gain valuable hands-on experience using state-of-the-art dental 3D printers and dental equipment along with learning industry techniques and knowledge to prepare them for the workforce.
