3/30/2025- West TN storm shelters opening
With tornado watches already issued in several counties in West TN, be sure to stay weather aware!
The following storm shelters will be open throughout the West TN area.
- Bethel University- Library Basement (entrance located at rear southeast corner of building closest to the log cabin.) at 105 Campus Drive, Mckenzie, TN 38201.
- Carroll County Jail at 200 Norandal Drive, Huntingdon, TN 38344
- Crockett Co.- Alamo Storm Shelter opening at 7:00pm
- Decatur County Courthouse Basement will be open at 6 p.m. for anyone wanting to shelter from severe weather and will be open until the threat has passed
- The Henry County Sheriff’s Office will be opening the storm shelter located at Harrelson, Henry and Lakewood Schools this evening at 6pm. The shelters will remain open until the threat of severe weather has passed.
- Madison County Airport Saferooms will be open at 6:00pm.
- Martin, TN- The Community Safe Room located at 701 N Lindell St. and operates a FEMA (F5) rated tornado safe room. is now open & will remain open until the watch is no longer active.
- Weakley Co.-We will be opening the courthouse tonight at 6pm until the primary weather threat has concluded, most likely around midnight.
- The Paris Police Department will be opening the shelters at Inman and Rhea Schools also.
