Frost Advisory in Effect Tonight

Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. Tuesday

Temperatures will be able to drop to 30s tonight as long as skies get clearer by Wednesday morning. Most of our viewing area will drop to the middle 30s at the coolest point of the night. A Frost Advisory means tender plants and vegetation could be harmed or even killed by the cold weather. Prepare your plants now before the frost comes in! The Advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. Wednesday. Skies will be mainly clear to partly cloudy tonight with light winds from the west and that cloud cover is more likely to impact northwest Tennessee than anywhere else in the Mid-South.

We’ll get a sunny day on Wednesday and slightly warmer temperatures with highs in the lower to middle 60s. Skies could be a bit cloudier in northwest Tennessee and we may even see an isolated shower or two in that area near the Tennessee River, but most of our viewing area will be dry. The next cold front will come on Friday bringing rain for Friday afternoon and evening and even colder weather for the upcoming weekend! We could see temperatures get close to freezing for the first time this year on Sunday morning. On average, we don’t have our first freeze until late October, so this is par for the course, but the last week of October could be the coldest week we’ve had since Winter!
