Grizzlies sign free-agent point guard Barrett
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – The Memphis Grizzlies have signed free-agent point guard Andre Barrett.
Barrett, who is 5-foot-10, spent last season with the Maine Red Claws and Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. Barrett averaged 7.5 points and 7.7 assists in 17 games for Maine. He averaged 11.3 points and 7.9 assists in 16 games with Sioux Falls.
The Grizzlies announced Barrett’s signing Thursday without disclosing terms of the deal.
The 31-year-old Barrett has NBA experience with the Houston Rockets (2004-05), Orlando Magic (2004-05), Phoenix Suns (2005-06), Toronto Raptors (2005-06) and Los Angeles Clippers (2007-08). He has averaged 3.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 67 career NBA games.
Barrett’s addition gives the Grizzlies a 17-man roster.
