Legendary High School Basketball coach Tony Shutes retires
Breaking news as long time local girls high school basketball coach
Tony Shutes has officially retired. He announced
it via facebook on April 11th. Shutes coached for
34 seasons spending 30 of them at USJ, one at JCM,
and three at Jackson Christian school. He has 649 total career wins.
Shutes has won 22 district championships,
seven regional titles,
20 sub state games , and 10 state tournament
appearances. He had this to say in a
statement “For me at this time time it’s the best thing
to do after spending 38 years on the sideline I feel
that its time. A Lot of great memories that I will cherish
forever.”
