John Kenwood Robinson

John Kenwood Robinson of Puryear, TN passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at
Henry County Health & Rehabilitation. His funeral service will be graveside at
1:30 pm Saturday, April 19 th at Puryear City Cemetery with Mackie Gallimore
officiating. Burial will follow in Puryear City Cemetery. Visitation will be from
11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday April 19 th at McEvoy Funeral Home.
John Kenwood Robinson was born December 20, 1923, in Puryear, TN to the late
John Herman & Beulah Atkins Robinson. On May 9, 1943, he married Maude
Wade Robinson, and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2020. They were
married for over 76 years.
Mr. Robinson was a lifelong member of Puryear Church of Christ where he served
as treasurer for many years. He enjoyed Boy Scouting and served as Assistant
Scout Master for troop #226 in Puryear and troop #28 in Paris. He loved farming
and mowing the grass, and he enjoyed his family. He never met a stranger.
Kenwood is survived by his daughter, Nelda (Mark) Dobberstein of Brentwood,
TN; his son, John (Leslie) Robinson of Madison, AL; grandchildren: Jordan
(Dava) Dobberstein, and Caroline, Austin, and Rebecca Robinson; great-
grandchildren: August & Asa Dobberstein; and special caregiver, Toya Stallings.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Robinson was also preceded in death by two
brothers, Lawton & Rex Robinson.
The family wants to express their gratitude to Toya Stallings for her & her family’s
compassion in caring for Kenwood. Special thanks also go to the staff of Plumley
