It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Britton, who left us
on April 14, 2025. Born on September 15, 1948, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Tom lived
a life rich in creativity and adventure. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle,
cousin, and friend, whose spirit touched the lives of many.

Tom graduated from E.W. Grove High School in Paris, Tennessee, and furthered
his education at Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee. His career in the

painting, capturing the beauty of the world around him with each brushstroke.

He enjoyed the fellowship of First Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School class and
the kindness of Mr. Jimmy Williams. Tom cherished the moments spent fishing
and traveling, always seeking new experiences and inspiration. His adventurous
spirit led him to explore various landscapes, each journey enriching his life and art.
He loved meeting and visiting people.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Myrcel Woodcock Britton and
Fred Britton, and brother, David Britton. He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane
Britton Avery, Graham Avery, and sister-in-law, Joan Britton, and nieces Alex
Avery, Andrea Piper, and Heather Hardin, as well as a host of friends and family
who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

In honoring Tom's life, we remember his kindness, creativity, humor, and zest for
life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration that will continue to resonate
with all who knew him. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on May 2, 2025, in
