Tyson to buy grain elevators in Gibson County
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A Tyson Foods subsidiary has agreed to buy three grain elevators in Dyer, Humboldt and Kenton, according to a news release.
These elevators will also support existing Tyson operations in Union City and the planned chicken complex coming to Humboldt, the release says.
The purchase is expected to close in March, and the terms of the purchase agreement have not been disclosed.
The grain elevators are currently owned by the Grain Group of the Andersons Inc.
About 20 employees of the Andersons are expected to become employees at Tyson, the release says.
