Nashville Curfew Slips Through Cracks

The curfew for youngsters under 18 has expired in Nashville and has not been renewed.

According to WSMV-TV, the ordinance expired last June and most Metro Council members were unaware of it until informed by the station.

The curfew was 11 p.m. for unaccompanied minors during the week and midnight on the weekends. The ordinance dates back to 1999.

Any new ordinance will require at least three Metro Council readings before it can take effect.

Until then, court officials told the station there are several court cases that will be affected by this lapse.
