SWAT officers surround north Jackson home; police say suspect remains on run
JACKSON, Tenn. — It was a busy morning for the Jackson Police Department as SWAT officers surrounded a north Jackson house for hours.

“This [Wednesday] morning about 2:15, the Jackson Police Department received a call about a domestic in progress,” Police Chief Julian Wiser said.
Chief Wiser says a man and woman were inside a home in the 30 block of Farmington Drive. The woman told police her boyfriend, Cortrell Bond, 25, assaulted her with a handgun.
“The suspect was not in the residence. He had already fled prior to police arriving to the residence,” Chief Wiser said.
Police searched the neighborhood hoping to find the suspect.
“He’s five feet nine, skinny build and he was last seen wearing no shirt and red shorts,” Chief Wiser said. “We’ve checked the neighborhood and we will continue to patrol the neighborhood.”
Police tell us Bond has two other active warrants with the city, one for domestic vandalism.
We reached out to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and they say he has two warrants with them as well — one for a community corrections violation and the other for violating his probation.
“Anytime there’s a situation with a weapon involved we have the SWAT team out here, and those guys are trained in those type of situations,” Wiser said.
Police say they believe the home belongs to Bond’s family. They say the victim escaped and is OK but that residents can expect a heavy police presence throughout the day.
“We do have a search warrant for the residence, so we will be collecting evidence,” Wiser said.
