Arrest made at local ballpark for firearm, alcohol violations
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE CROCKETT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:
BELLS, Tenn. — April 25, 2025 — The Bells Police Department arrested 20-year-old Kaden Pollock last night following a serious incident involving firearms and alcohol violations at the Bells Ball Park, located near the Bells Elementary School.
On April 24, 2025, at approximately 7:12pm, officers were alerted to the presence of a male individual openly consuming alcohol in plain view of spectators at the ballpark. Upon making contact with the suspect in the parking lot, officers observed additional alcohol containers inside his vehicle.
During the course of the arrest, officers conducted a routine pat-down and discovered that Pollock was carrying a fully loaded and cocked .45-caliber 1911 style handgun on his person. A subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed a fully loaded AK-47 rifle, which was immediately secured to ensure public safety.
Mr. Pollock has been charged with the following offenses:
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Carrying a firearm on school property
- Underage consumption of alcohol
- Consumption of alcohol on school property
“This is a very serious situation given the proximity to an elementary school and the presence of families and children at the park,” said Kevin Ligon, Chief of Police Department. “Thanks to the swift actions of Sgt. Crawford, Officer Smith, and deputy from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office, a potentially dangerous situation was safely resolved without harm to the public.”
Pollock was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Crockett County Jail. His bond and court dates are pending.
