A cold front will pass as well on Friday but some cooler and drier weather will move in for the weekend. Catch the latest on the RADAR and the forecast for the rest of the week and weekend coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
Monday was the warmest day so far this Spring, reaching up to 88° in Jackson around 5pm. We also saw plenty of sunshine and a light breeze out of the south making for a great day. The showers stayed away on Monday but will be returning for some of us off and on this week. Storm chances returned for some of us late Tuesday but most of us missed out. A couple wind storms will be possible as we are under a slight (2/5) risk for severe storms. Tornadoes are not expected and hail and flooding also seem like a small concern as of now. Some of the storms could linger into Wednesday morning. There is a chance most of them stay just to the northwest of West Tennessee and chances are currently 30% on Tuesday.

Tuesday was another warm day with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s again. The winds stayed out of the south on Tuesday and it was a bit breezy as well. Skies started out mostly sunny before some clouds built back in towards the evening hours. Tuesday night lows will dip into the mid 60s to kick off our Wednesday. Wednesday will also be warm with highs reaching the mid 80s. The winds on Wednesday will still come out of the south and expect a partly cloudy day. Wednesday night lows will fall to the mid to upper 60s.

There could be some more showers and storms coming back Wednesday night but our best chances for showers and storms this week will be on Thursday. Like Tuesday, a few of these storms could be strong or severe in the afternoon and evening hours. Chances for rain on Thursday as of now are 60%. Thursday highs will reach the low 80s as we are expecting a mostly cloudy day keeping the temperatures down a bit, The winds will come out of the southwest on Thursday and the next front will look to pass by sometime in the day on Friday.

We are expecting some lingering showers and storms on Friday as the cold front will finally pass by. The winds on Friday will change from the southwest to the west and then to the northwest during the day as the front passes by. Highs on Friday will hit the upper 70s and Friday night lows will drop down to around 60°. Chances for rain on Friday are 30% with most being early in the day.

THE WEEKEND:
Temperatures are going to be a little cooler this weekend behind Friday’s cold front. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid 70s and Sunday highs will be in the upper 70. Saturday night lows will drop to the mid 50s and Sunday night lows will settle in around 50° to start next week. There will be mostly sunny skies this weekend and we are expecting any rain. The winds this weekend will come out of the north or northeast keeping both the temperature and humidity down all weekend long. Make some plans this weekend as it is not going to be wet, humid or too hot! Warmer weather will look to return as we head into next week.
