Three More Chances for Severe Weather this Week in West Tennessee
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Some none severe storms will move through West Tennessee tonight. They are approaching the Mississippi River around 10pm and will move through early tonight. Some lightening, heavy rain and 40 mph wind gusts will be possible. The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect tonight until 11pm and it will not be extended to the east or extended in later in time. Although a severe storm or two will be possible, it isn’t likely as these storms are already weakening tonight. There will be more storm chances on Thursday and storms look like across our area on Friday. Catch the latest right here.

THIS WEEK:
Tuesday was another warm day with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s again, just short of the record of 88°. The winds stayed out of the south on Tuesday and it was a bit breezy as well. Skies started out mostly sunny before some clouds built back in towards the evening hours. Tuesday night lows dipped into the mid 60s to kick off our Wednesday. Wednesday was also warm with highs reaching the mid 80s. The winds on Wednesday still came out of the south and we saw a mostly sunny day but clouds will be returning tonight. Wednesday night lows will fall to the mid to upper 60s.

There could be some more showers and storms coming back Wednesday night but our best chances for showers and storms this week will be on Thursday. Like Tuesday, a few of these storms could be strong or severe in the afternoon and evening hours. Chances for rain on Thursday as of now are 60%. Thursday highs will reach the low 80s as we are expecting a mostly cloudy day keeping the temperatures down a bit, The winds will come out of the southwest on Thursday and the next front will look to pass by sometime in the day on Friday. We are currently under a slight risk (2/5) for storms Thursday afternoon/evening and we are not expecting an upgrade to a level 3.

We are expecting some lingering showers and storms on Friday as the cold front will finally pass by overnight into Saturday morning. The winds on Friday will change from the southwest to the west and then to the northwest during the day as the front passes by. Highs on Friday will hit the upper 70s and Friday night lows will drop down to around 60°. Chances for rain on Friday are 70% with most coming in the evening and night time hours. We are currently under a marginal risk (1/5) but we are expecting an upgrade to a level 2 (slight risk) before the event Friday evening.
THE WEEKEND:
Temperatures are going to be a little cooler this weekend behind Friday’s cold front. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid 70s and Sunday highs will be in the upper 70. Saturday night lows will drop to the mid 50s and Sunday night lows will settle in around 50° to start next week. There will be some clouds Saturday morning but overall we are expecting mostly sunny skies this weekend and we are expecting any rain after the system clears out Saturday morning. The winds this weekend will come out of the north or northeast keeping both the temperature and humidity down all weekend long. Make some plans this weekend as it is not going to be wet, humid or too hot! Warmer weather will look to return as we head into next week.
