Bobby Wayne Williams

Bobby Wayne Williams, 77, of the Clayton community went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born October 13, 1947, in Obion County, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Mary Helen (Hamblen) Williams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Williams.

Bobby’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith and his dedication to serving others. A devoted farmer and cattle farmer, he found joy in the land and in providing for his family. Bobby was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. He was a former deacon at First Baptist Church in Union City and dedicated countless hours to his beliefs through Bricklayers for Christ, Campers on Mission, and extensive mission work. This included work on three Cherokee reservations, numerous disaster relief projects across the United States, and foreign mission trips.

On January 2, 1965, Bobby married the love of his life, Janie (McCain) Williams, celebrating 60 years of cherished partnership. Together, they built a life filled with love and family. He is survived by his wife Janie; three sons, Bobby Williams (Cheryl) of Union City, Jimmy Williams (Carla) of Austin, Arkansas, and Michael Williams (Joyce) of Columbia; one sister, Donna Wallace of Union City; and nine grandchildren, Chris Williams (Kaycee), Kijsa Williams, Kristin Cuevas (Angel), Andrew Williams, Jonathan Hassell (Tricia), Kimberly Hassell, Amber Gibson (James), Mallory Gibson, and Lydia Bailey.

Bobby’s legacy extends far beyond his accomplishments; it lies in the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Republican Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Brooks, Richard Hanks, Bob Kean, Jack Krietman, Richard Wright, and Dr. John Clendenin. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Watts, Michael Jordan, Chris Williams, Andrew Williams, Jonathan Hassell, Jerry Mohler, and James Vinson.
