Pastor Bans Volunteer Group
That Northwestern University professor’s decision allowing the demonstration of sex toy use after one of his classes caused trouble for student volunteers.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports the pastor of a Baptist church in Hixson, Tenn. refused to allow 14 Northwestern students to camp on church property last month while they were in town to help build a nature trail.
The Rev. Clifton Roth gave permission to the students to camp on Community Baptist Church property during spring break, but withdrew it after seeing Chattanooga newspaper article.
Roth told the Sun-Times he believed he needed to keep them at arm’s length because the students’ presence could besmirch the church.
Jenny Haag, who made the arrangements with Roth, said she was stunned by his turnaround. She said the students found other accommodations.
