Scattered Showers Increasing Overnight, Weak Thunderstorms Possible By Monday Morning

Sunday Forecast Update

As scattered showers once again make their way through West Tennessee, we find ourselves looking at our first good chance at making it up to 90 for the first time this year later in the week. We have the details all right here.

Monday-Tuesday:

Scattered showers and storms could make their way through the region as the cutoff low to our south will begin to clear out. Scattered showers should be wrapping up by Tuesday afternoon. Any storms that do develop on Monday will remain below severe limits. Temperatures will be in the upper-70s, working into the 80s after Tuesday.

Wednesday-Thursday:

Skies will be much clearer, but temperatures will be much higher on Wednesday and Thursday. NWS Memphis has said there is roughly a 50% chance that much of the forecast area will see 90 degrees for the first time this year. Even the overnight lows will be much warmer as the lows will be into the 70s through the middle of the week. Southerly winds will bring in extra moisture, likely leading to elevated humidity. Summer is on its way.

Next Weekend:

Chances for showers return to end the week starting Friday night. As of right now, guidance models suggest that coverage will be spotty, but locally heavy downpours may occur. The chance for widespread showers or storms is the highest overnight Friday. Daytime temperatures will still be lingering into the mid to upper 80s.
