JMCSS celebrates student’s achievements with ‘ACT 30+ Luncheon’

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson-Madison County Schools kick off their ACT 30+ Luncheon Monday in the Hub City.

Any student that scores a 30 or above on the ACT becomes a member of the ACT 30+ Club. Graduating seniors will wear a purple cord and they also receive a state of the art MacBook as a gift this year.

All students invited to the luncheon are administered an ACT 30+ black card they can use to get into all school system activities for free that last until they turn 21.

“I did not expect very much from taking the ACT my first time, I just really wanted to get into dual enrollment stuff, but it’s definitely taken a lot of prep work and I’m really glad some of my teachers have been supportive in and outside of the classroom,” said Bonnie Xu, junior at Madison Academic High School.

“We’re just excited to continue celebrating students because all of the work we do in the school system is all about them,” said Melissa Spurgeon, chief of staff for JMCSS. Bonnie Xu, junior at madison academic high school.

Jackson Madison County Schools believe their rigorous programs in elementary, middle and high school prepare their students to further their education.
