Women in Business Luncheon held at Union University
JACKSON, Tenn. — Business women from across the Hub City gather Thursday to celebrate and network.

The Greater Jackson Chamber’s Women in Business Luncheon was held Thursday afternoon on the campus of Union University.

Along with the meal, door prizes were drawn for those in attendance.

The ladies who lead also invited a guest speaker: The Jackson Branch Chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Hillary Lawler Parham.
“I found a need or a desire to fight for the underdog and I think that that blazed my career path as I made my choices and moved forward in my career,” said Parham.
In her speech, Parham shared details of her journey, mentors she had along the way and the challenges she faced. She hoped her message would be inspiring to any woman in any business.
Also while we were at the event, we managed to speak to one of Jackson’s business owners.
Amanda Zimmerman, owner of Fitting Lingerie, spoke with us about using her business to instill confidence in fellow women.
“Oh gosh that’s the best part. That’s the best part. Any time a lady can come in for a fitting and you know, walk out feeling like a brand new person, that’s the best,” said Zimmerman.
The guest speaker described the event as iron sharpening iron, everyone helping everyone make Jackson a better place for all of us.
The next ‘Women in Business’ event is on September 11.
