Few Storms Tonight, Severe Weather is Expected on Friday in West Tennessee!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

Most of the day Thursday has been pretty good. It was a hot and humid day with highs reaching the upper 80s.Some of us were very close to the 90° mark. The winds were a bit breezy and come out of the southwest. We saw periods of sun and clouds but overall we saw partly cloudy skies. There could be a few late evening and night storms and one or two of them could be severe so we need to watch things closely late Thursday night into the day on Friday. Thursday night lows will again be warm due to the humidity and drop down to the low 70s to kick off our Friday.

The greatest severe weather threat this week will be here on Friday. There could be a couple strong storms Friday morning but it will be Friday evening into Friday night that we need to stay weather aware. We are already under a level 3. enhanced risk with a level 4 (moderate risk) being cut off right at the Kentucky border. Friday and the setup looks a bit concerning as of now and it is something we are going to need to keep a close eye as the storms develop. Severe weather looks likely including the possibility of a couple of strong tornadoes in the afternoon and evening hours.

A few supercell rotating storms will develop Friday afternoon & evening that will have the potential of producing a few tornadoes, most of those will stay just north of West Tennessee but some could drop far enough south to hit a few of us! A line of storms producing gusty winds will move through in the late evening & night time hours. Those storms will weaken as the night goes on & track to the southeast. Friday will be a warm and humid day as well with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s again and Friday night lows will drop to the upper 60s. The winds will again come out of the southwest and remain quite breezy as the system moves through.

THE WEEKEND:
The forecast this weekend looks to be a challenging one as we are likely going to be dealing with a stalled out cold front. How far south it stalls out will make a big difference on what our weather is going to be like this weekend. As of now we are expecting the front to stall out just south of us on Saturday keeping showers away for most of the day. There could be a few storms before the sun comes up Saturday morning as the front passes through. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid 80s and the winds are expected to come out of the west. Skies will be mostly cloudy in the morning but will try to break up some as the day goes on. There could be a few strong storms returning Saturday night as well as some redevelopment is likely that will last into Sunday.

On Sunday, the front is likely going to lift back through bringing another round of showers and storms with it. There is a chance for some sever e storms on Sunday too but it is a bit too early to have many details on who is most likely to be impacted and when as of now! Highs on Sunday reach the low to mid 80s as the front will lift through in the afternoon or evening hours. The winds will shift back to the southwest late in the day. Expect mostly cloudy skies on Sunday and some of the showers could stick around into the start of next week as well. The weekend forecast could change some so do not cancel your weekend plans yet but keep a close eye on the forecast this week as we develop more confidence in the forecast.
