Pretty Paws Grooming hosts drawing contest for local students
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A local business hosts a special contest to help spread awareness for animals and pets.
Earlier Friday, students from Caywood Elementary in Lexington gathered at Pretty Paws Grooming to participate in a drawing contest.
Students were asked to draw their favorite pets and the winner would receive a gift from the Princess Theatre.
Pretty Paws Grooming got the idea for the event after a young child left a nice note in the pet groomers mailbox.
“We’re trying to promote this positivity and this is just the start. This is going to be our first time doing this here. Moving forward in the future, starting in August, schools throughout the city and county of Lexington will all be involved,” said James Lavel, co-worker with Pretty Paws Grooming.
Pretty Paws Grooming is also making a donation to the Frances Hensley Animal Shelter.
