Storms Possible Overnight, Update For Tuesday’s Threat

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

After some showers passed along Highway 64 through Southwest Tennessee, we have more possible storms overnight tonight into Monday morning nad an update on Tuesday’s Storm threat all coming up right here.

Tonight:

Storms will start to pop up overnight, but should steer clear of West Tennessee for the most part. Regardless, the SPC has issued a Marginal (1/5) for almost all of us. We’re tracking an MCS in Southeastern Oklahoma that will make its way to the Mid-South over the course of the evening. Fortunately, tornadoes are not expected, but strong winds and marginally severe hail are possible.

Monday:

The previously mentioned MCS currently in Oklahoma could impact portions of West Tennessee late Monday morning. We could see all hazards after sunrise on Monday as the cluster of storms moves across the Mid-South. Most of West Tennessee is under a Marginal (1/5) risk for Monday. Portions of Lake County have been upgraded to a Slight (2/5) risk. This does not include Ridgely or Reelfoot Lake State Park at this time. Tiptonville is on the fringe between the Marginal and Slight.

Monday Severe

Tuesday:

The SPC expanded the Enhanced (3/5) risk to include almost all of West Tennessee for Tuesday. The latest model runs hint that we will see a line of storms around sunrise Tuesday morning with clearing behind it allowing the atmosphere to recover for the potential for supercells to develop ahead of the front before congealing into a bowing line. All hazards are possible and a categorical breakdown will be available from the SPC tomorrow.

Tue Morn

Wednesday Onward:

After the front passes Tuesday, milder temperatures and clearer skies will return to the Mid-South. At least for the remainder of the week, chances for rain remains low. Stay tuned for updates tomorrow as we’ll get our first look at your Memorial Day forecast.
