ConAgra Gives Tons of Food to Helping Hand

Leaders at Con-Agra Foods in Humboldt gave more than just a few items of food to local families in need. As a matter of fact, they gave away tons of food, taking almost half an hour to unload it all. Officials with Con Agra collected 2,400 pounds of food and presented it to Helping Hand of Humboldt. Organizers said with more families across the area needing help, the donations of food could not have come at a better time. “We really care about the community and making sure that, you know, if we’re a food producer, if there’s hungry people in our community, we need to be a part of that, we need to be a part of that, we need to be a part of that solution,” said Dennis Tims, plant manager, with ConAgra Foods. Leaders said even after all the food is distributed, continued support by the community will still be needed.
