Experts applaud rise of clean energy manufacturing in U.S.
JACKSON, Tenn. — Clean energy manufacturing appears to be growing in the U.S., which brings many benefits, according to one expert.
A report from the American Clean Power Association says that clean energy manufacturing contributes almost $20 billion to the GDP.
They also say it attaches $33 billion in domestic investment.
Right now, this form of manufacturing supports over 100,000 jobs in our country and has plans to grow.
Experts say these are career building jobs that create generational opportunities.
“We have the capital, and the technology, and the innovation, and the workforce to make this a real manufacturing success story,” said JC Sandberg, Chief Policy Officer, American Clean Power Association. “If we continue on our pace in the next five years and the industry meats its current potential, we would employ 575,000 people in the manufacturing space.”
Tennessee currently has seven facilities online. They plan to have 18 facilities supporting 6,000 jobs by 2030.
