HENDERSON, Tenn. — A bad wreck in Henderson Thursday morning resulted in road closures and a large fire.

Early Thursday morning, our WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News team was alerted to a vehicle crash that occurred at Highway 45 and Highway 100 in Henderson.

Videos and pictures started circulating on social media showing a blaze at the bridge of the intersection.

We were able to speak with Sergeant Charles Childers of the Tennessee Highway Patrol to learn more about what happened.

“The Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently on the scene of a fatality vehicle car crash at the intersection of US 45 and State Route 100 here in Chester County. We do expect for the lanes to be closed while emergency services recover vehicles,” Childers stated.

There were many different agencies and emergency personnel on the scene to assist with the situation.

“The Highway Patrol, along with the City of Henderson and Chester County Sheriff’s Office continue to conduct an investigation,” Childers added. “We’re also with our community partners, the Henderson Fire Department, we have TDOT here, and other people from Chester County and the City of Henderson.”

There were two vehicles involved in this crash — one 18-wheel truck and a small four-door car.

There’s still some information and details that are unknown at this time regarding this matter. However, we will share those with you as soon as we get that information confirmed.
