Rape Case Bound Over to Grand Jury

A preliminary hearing was held Thursday for Victor Byndum, a registered sex offender charged with rape earlier this month. The 40-year-old waived his rights and now his case will be heard by a Madison County grand jury. Police said on March 9, a man told them he and Byndum left a club and went to his house. The victim said he fell asleep, but awoke a short time later to find Byndum performing a sex act on him. Byndum was convicted in 2000 on several charges, including sexual battery by an authority figure.
