What’s New Wednesday: Java Junkies & Grill
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — Java Junkies & Grill opened last December at 269 West Church Street in Lexington.
The food truck-style establishment offers a wide variety of specialty coffees, including hot, cold, and frozen options.
“We have several different kinds,” said owner Missy Jo Willis. “One of them, our most popular, is the ‘Mojo.’ It consists of butter pecan, caramel, and white chocolate with toasted marshmallow cold foam.”
And it’s not just coffee that they’re serving up.
Willis says they have become known for their food menu, which features items like their specialty burgers, wraps, quesadillas, and some morning favorites.
“We do breakfast, breakfast is our biggest seller,” Willis said. “We start at 5 o’clock in the morning, full breakfast.”
Willis tells us that she’s a daylight to dark coffee drinker who dreamed of opening the business for years, and gave thanks to a former colleague, Chesney Young, for teaching her all she knows about coffee.
She also gave special thanks to the Lexington community for the support that’s been shown to her venture.
“They’re an awesome community, and the support to a small business… A small business can’t make it without the community that you live in, or that you run your business in. Without that community, you don’t have a business,” Willis said.
So whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a cup of joe, Java Junkies may just be the pick me up you’re looking for.
“We’re a small food trailer, but we have restaurant food,” said Willis.
Java Junkies & Grill is open from 5 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, click here for their official Facebook page.
