Earlier this week, ABC 7 Eyewitness News showed you a home in northwest Madison County that was severely damaged after a massive tree was blown onto the house, slicing it in two. On Friday, the 200-year-old oak tree was removed. Crews worked to clean up the debris and secure the integrity of the house. The homeowner said he and his family have lived in the home for three years and adds the extent of the damage has left them wondering if they will be able to rebuild or simply start fresh. “We are trying to figure out exactly what the next step will be on rebuilding but everyone is safe, and everyone has been a big help to us, said home owner Tom Hanson. Hanson said he and his family are currently waiting on the insurance company to survey the damage.
