Century Farm Winery shares plans regarding unexpected rainy days
MADISON CO.— One local winery shares how they are handling the changing weather while bringing fun to those who stop by.
Century Farm Winery took the time Tuesday afternoon to discuss what their plan looks like for rainy days.
“Sometimes when it rains we’re really busy, because it cuts down on all the outdoor activities that you can do around town, and people come down to the winery because it can be done inside,” Bart Horton, owner of Century Farm Winery, says.
Last weekend it rained for one day and then stopped, still allowing one popular event to continue, whether it be inside or outside.
“To this point we haven’t had to change dates. Now that we’ve got our new facility, we do have the luxury of being able to move our events inside, if we do have inclement weather,” Horton shares.
There are ways that people can stay up to date just in case there is questionable weather happening.
“Generally we’ll post on Facebook and Instagram if we’re gonna be closing down early. Then we’ll just put a sign on our door as well. For the safety of our staff and customers decided to close early if it’s a very serious storm coming through,” he adds.
Century winery farms has some events for everyone to enjoy, especially on the sunny summer days.
“We’ve got our voices in the vineyard coming up again with bullet time trio , and that is on June 21st. We’ve got yoga class on Wednesday the 25th and then ever popular goat yoga is June 28th.”
Although the weekend consists of their more popular days, the week days provide a more intimate feel.
“The crowds when we move it inside certainly are smaller. We are able to open it up, the room we play in, so we can still sit on the patio just not the deck. So we can probably still accommodate 100 to 125 people if we have to move it inside.”
There are plenty of ways that wine lovers can enjoy the summer days with friends and family.
“Just if you think about it grab a friend bring them out enjoy a wine slushie a wine flight, spend the afternoon at the vineyard we enjoy meeting new people.”
Stay up to date with events and plans on their Facebook or Instagram.
