Shooting investigation underway after Sheriff’s Office vehicle struck by gunfire

Newbern Police Department Investigating Shooting Incident
NEWBERN, TN. – The Newbern Police Department is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of June 10, 2025 between the hours of 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
Newbern Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle being struck by gunfire in the area of Crown Point Drive. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a patrol vehicle belonging to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office had been struck by gunfire while parked at the residence of an off-duty officer.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify any individuals involved.
