Fishing Rodeo held at Muse Park

JACKSON, Tenn.—A little rain didn’t stop some ‘reel’ fun at Muse Park Saturday morning.

The Jackson Parks and Recreation Department hosted its Youth Fishing Rodeo Saturday.

There was a great turn out with over 100 kids expected to attend the event and the fish were biting!

The event took place from 9 until 11 at Muse Park Pond located at 1380 North Parkway in Jackson.

Not only could kids cast a line, but there were also giveaways, goodie bags, and trophies given for the best catch in each age division.

“This is a time for families to come together to bond. A time to just enjoy the being outside, nature, fish and maybe catch something for dinner tonight,” said Bridgett Parham, Superintendent of Recreation Programs.

This is a free event hosted annually by the Jackson Parks and Recreation Department as a way to help kids get outdoors and learn to fish.
