UPDATE: I-40 wreck shuts down westbound lanes in Haywood County

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — A multi-vehicle crash Friday morning shut down part of Interstate 40 for more than two hours in Haywood County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirms a tractor-trailer and a van collided sometime after 5 a.m. Friday.

Both westbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 52 were closed for at least two hours, causing traffic to come to a complete stop.

The THP confirms there were injuries in the crash, but there was no word on the extent of the injuries.
