Local Juneteenth luncheon brings community members together
ALAMO, Tenn. — One organization holds a special event.
Earlier Thursday, the Central High School Alumni Association (CHSAA) held their annual Juneteenth celebration luncheon.
This is the 3rd year the organization has held the event.
Community partners, alumni and friends all gathered at the Crockett Room to eat, fellowship and listen to gospel music.
“Our theme for this year is ‘Harboring Hope: The Power of Resilience,’ and that is what we are in this community. We just to make sure that people are empowered to do more than they have ever done – that you could think or imagine,” said Kevin Ellison, chairman for the CHSAA Juneteenth Committee.
Each year since 2022, the CHSAA organizes the Juneteenth luncheon with a different theme.
