Jackson EMA to test chemical siren tone Saturday
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson-Madison County Emergency Management will be testing the chemical siren tone in place of the weekly tornado siren test Saturday.

This will be slightly different than what you typically hear. This simply means shelter in place if you hear this tone.
Officials say it is not intended to scare anyone. It is meant to make the public aware of the difference in tones from tornado to chemical.
“Your tornado siren is an up and down wail, whereas a large chemical spill siren would be a steady tone. So it’ll run for three minutes, at a steady pace,” said Jason Moore, emergency management director for Jackson-Madison County.
The test is set to take place Saturday.
