UofM Lambuth celebrates True Blue Day
JACKSON, Tenn.—A group of local alumni students reconnect to celebrate the legacy of Lambuth and the University of Memphis.
True Blue Day was celebrated at the UofM Lambuth campus.
The event took place beginning at 9 Saturday morning at the Wilder Student Union Building.
This year’s event celebrates the Class of 1975 and the Class of 2000.
Alumni students gathered for a day filled with fun events and time to enjoy reconnecting with former classmates.
There was a meet and greet followed by a special planetarium show. Guests were also invited to enjoy a delicious lunch at the award banquet.
Former graduates were recognized with a legacy pinning ceremony and coin presentations.
Many alumni were also recognized with awards for their outstanding contributions and continued connection to the university.
“For us, it’s kind of the homecoming week right. We used to have homecoming in the fall and everybody would come together because of the love and appreciation for Lambuth and Lambuth campus. We switched that to True Blue Day and we were supposed to have this in April and the storm came through and changed our plans. So today, we call it True Blue Day on the Lambuth campus but what it truly is, is homecoming. So everybody coming together for their love and passion for Lambuth University,” said Cary Vaughan, Alumni Board Member.
UofM celebrates True Blue Day each year, recognizing outstanding alumni and the milestone anniversaries of its classes.
